You are the author of your unfolding life story, as are we all. Regardless of how things have gone up to this point – and you probably have regrets and judgments like I do – this is your life right now. I’m speaking with you in this moment, which can either be an ordinary moment or a magic moment of imminent transformation, depending on your outlook.
And here emerges an incredible fact, a supreme understanding that must come first in our conversation: we are all creating our life experience moment by moment. Scientists refer to this as The Observer Effect. Simply put, it means that what we see is determined by how we look. Obviously, to see anything requires light. You can’t see in the dark. But light changes what it touches. Introducing light, you see, but what you see is what presents itself only when the light is on.
What does this mean in everyday life? That you and I are experiencing the moments of our lives the way they are because of the way we are looking. And the way we are looking is determined by our beliefs, our mindset. Here’s a handy catch phrase to help remember this:
You’ll see it when you believe it.
Many people feel powerless to change their lives. It’s just a belief and fundamentally false. Yes, we all live in limitation. Not enough money, not enough time, not enough help, etc. That makes no difference whatsoever because there will always be challenges. They just change.
The Big Change, available in these moments, is to discard every excuse and doubt in order to embrace one, central principle of truth: you have the power to create your life the way you want it to be by changing the way you look, by changing your beliefs, your mindset.
We do that by learning how to look through the eyes of love.
Imagine a force radiating from you into your environment. Remember perfume. Smell a memory of scent, perhaps in an embrace with someone. Recall a friend entering the room, obviously angry. Picture that scene and remember how you knew they were mad. It was more than how they looked, wasn’t it? You felt what was going on inside them.
Remember a first kiss. How did that feel, especially in the moments just before your lips met his/hers for the first time? You had a sensing, didn’t you? An emotional green light turned on and you acted. “Yes, now is the moment!”
Now is the moment.
There is a force radiating from you into your environment, always, and it’s creating your life experience. Most of the time your influence is unconscious. You show up, you do things, other people do things, everyone has their experience.
Well, that was then, this is now.
Now, you are can be more conscious of what you are expressing, as you experiment with this creation principle: You experience what you express. Particularly, as you express love, you experience love.
No more waiting.
The Noon Club is our laboratory. Every day at noon – because we've set our smart phones – we are pausing to… express love. Practice throughout the day, every time you remember, but that chime at noon will remind you. Make the most of it with any kind of focused declaration. Mine is:
“This is the moment.
Something wonderful is happening.
I am creating my future with love.”
As you say it, silently or aloud, you are expressing love (in words and with feeling) and you are experiencing it. With continued practice, you will also begin to feel the influence you are radiating into your environment.
Just as the true purpose of meditation is to extend the meditative state longer and longer throughout the day, the true purpose of this noon practice is to extend an expressive mindset from a brief practice to our default state of being. Those few seconds at noon are intended to grow, so that life becomes wholly about the transmission we are broadcasting into the world.
At some point your understanding will “tip” and you will know – not in theory but in practice - the real secret of a fulfilling life, that you are creating your life experience. Your energetic signature, your unique “scent,” your emotional frequency, is also affecting others (all the time). This is how you can help them, at least it’s the first step, and one that can’t be overlooked. Express love without reservation and let everyone in your life enjoy it!
Be nice to strangers. Smile. Help. Listen. Be kind to those closest to you. And, be loving and forgiving towards yourself. Acknowledge your regrets and judgments, absolutely, but all that is behind you now, isn’t it? In the time it has taken you to read these words, a fundamental shift may have occurred inside you, and your life can be different now.
I’ll dive deeper into the details next week and introduce a fascinating term: pneumaplasm. Until then, practice expressing love and use your opportunity at noon each day to the fullest. You have company, in many time zones all around the world. We are learning and practicing and broadcasting together!
As Gandhi said: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
