Changing Universes
The concept of parallel universes is a popular theme in sci-fi films and a theoretical exploration for quantum scientists. It's also a reality we can easily experience, just like time travel, as long as we don't try to take our bodies with us.
Where do you live? I’m not asking about your geographical location but about your state of being. What’s your energetic address? For some, it’s anxiety. For others, it’s compassion. Today, we’ll explore changing our state of being, literally changing the universe where we live. This is the third LoveCasting practice, which I call Migration.
Elon Musk is leading the charge to Mars. Do you want to go to Mars? Here's what Google says about the effects of space travel on human health: "Long-term exposure causes multiple health problems, one of the most significant being loss of bone and muscle mass. Over time these deconditioning effects can impair astronauts' performance, increase their risk of injury, reduce their aerobic capacity, and slow down their cardiovascular system."
That sure sounds like fun! And something to ignore, right? We'll just worry about human health and long term survival later. Wait, that sounds familiar!
And what about our glorious destination, after six to eight months in space? (Jet lag anyone?) Desolate, no oxygen, no people, no coffee shops, theaters, no forests to stroll in, lakes to swim in, rivers to fish, mountains to climb, waves to surf... Uh, so what's the big attraction? Escape, survival, and control, that's what I think.
1. Escape:
We wrecked Earth so let's leave the mess and go wreck another planet. (Profile: teenagers who refuse to clean up their bedrooms.)
2. Survival:
We may not be able to survive here so let's help rich people start over. (Profile: anyone who believes the world should be controlled by those who own it.)
3. Control.
Perfect! No God! No nature! Nothing to interfere with making stuff up. It's a blank canvass out there! (Profile: those convinced it's a dangerous universe and that survival depends on human ingenuity.)
The migration I'm recommending travels through inner space, from a reactive universe ruled by fear to a proactive universe ruled by love. The journey is almost instant, it's freely available to everyone, there's no jet lag, we can enjoy great company along the way, and the destination is already wonderful. Ready?
Begin by pausing as you read. Look around and notice where you are. How are you feeling? Take a moment to appreciate how fortunate you are to have this moment free of anxiety and busyness. Breathe in and out, feel gratitude and appreciation ... alright! Let's change universes!
Study this model and make a commitment to the journey. Read the words, feel their meaning, and deeply integrate this choice... the first of many, to shift from fear to love.
Traveling through The Migration Zone is fraught with challenges. Next week, we'll discuss those and you'll pick up some navigation tools. In the meantime, choose your new universe over and over again. Do this all day long, whenever you become aware you've slipped back into familiar territory.
When you notice yourself complaining, choose to create something. When you feel unwell or are about to repeat an unhealthy habit, choose to heal (like, maybe, rest ...). If you find yourself resisting change or feeling threatened by someone, choose to enlighten the situation and grow from what's happening.
And, begin every morning by taking 3 minutes to write out your vision for the day: who you choose to be (qualities) and what you choose to do (actions). The form below on the left is your daily template, the one on the right includes whatever you write into it for the day ahead.
Right now you're an alien applying for citizenship. The application process is quick or endless, depending on how proactive you are. With daily practice, you'll soon become an official, full time resident in the universe of your choice.
This is the third LoveCasting practice.
